    Hello everyone!!

It has certainly been a minute since we published one of these and so it seemed time to get back on the wagon of providing some regular updates on here!

The past few years have been a strange time for the group since COVID put a halt to our normal everyday routines. It truly had a profound impact on groups like ours, as much as it did many small businesses and organizations. As many know our bi-annual Consignment sale has struggled to regain both support and financial stability since Covid brought so many things to a halt.

Over the last couple of years, we have worked to rebuild the club and the sale. We anticipate that for the first time since 2019, our Spring 2024 Sale will bring us out of the red in our finances. We came very close with this last sale, and with savings we expect to see in 2024 due to storage changes we are making, we are confident in our future projections. Which means, we expect to be able to continue hosting the sale for both our members, our sale followers, consignors, and community.

We have also, been working continuously to ramp up our events and offerings from the club and get back to business as usual again. It has been a long road, but we have seen an uptick in participation and attendance with events over the last several months! We have lots of events coming up for the last quarter and are excited to host our Fall and Holiday Special Event parties and our other more regular Mom's Night Out events, and Playdates! As always keep an eye on the Events page on Facebook and for the Event Invite Emails that come out from the website!

As always, our members and volunteers are what make this group so great! If you ever have a suggestion of something you'd like to see, please feel free to reach out by sending an email to president@nowamom.org.

Additionally, if you would ever like more on how to volunteer, or become more involved with the club, please also reach out by emailing president@nowamom.org.

Finally, we have updated all of our club materials recently, you may have spotted them if you came to the sale! We'll be working to start distributing those out to local hospitals as we are always looking to grow our membership and help support our fellow twin mommas! Have a twin mom friend that's not in the group? Well send her our way! We are a more the merrier kind of group!

I hope to see you soon at an upcoming event!

    Cheers,

    Michelle Thompson

    Hello!

Well the groundhog saw his shadow today so I guess we have to muddle through six more weeks of winter.

Now that my least favorite month is over, I officially start to get excited about spring and all the fun things it brings. Last year we were selling our house so I did not plant a veggie garden and I can’t wait to start soon at our new place. I’m not a particularly skilled gardener but I love to try each year anyway. A few weeks ago my twins started some beans and tomatoes from seeds in little pots and they have actually done quite well. Now I need to figure out transferring them to slightly larger pots until we can plant outside.

Besides the garden, I always get so many great spring design ideas to do around the house. My list is usually way too long to achieve it all but this year I’m trying to keep things simple. If I can get my curtains hung in the living room, I’ll consider it a win!  Oh that and tagging clothes and toys for the spring consignment sale!

I’m looking forward to the Sip and Paint next Thursday to make a fun spring sign! I hope many of you can join us as it’s always a really fun night getting to know your fellow club moms! And the board will be there as well to talk about how the NOWAMOM board works and what positions will be open for the upcoming year.

    Until next month,

    Happy New Year!

I truly hope that you and your families had a wonderful holiday season! It was great to see so many of you at the NOWAMOM holiday party last month!

January is one of my least favorite months of the year. I always find after the excitement of Thanksgiving and Christmas it’s a bit depressing. It always makes me sad to take down all of the decorations. HOWEVER, January does offer some fond memories of my husband and I getting pregnant. We began our parenthood journey 5 years ago when I started the injections for IVF treatment.  We were of course nervous, scared and unsure of what the outcome would be, but felt very fortunate to be able to go down this road. I still have phantom pain in my butt cheeks from the progesterone injections every now and then. After several weeks of the injections we did the egg retrieval, then embryo transplant and in February of 2013 got confirmation we were pregnant! With TWINS! Which, even when you transplant 2 embryos it’s still a shock to get that news!

Did you know that NOWAMOM has an Executive Board? The Board is responsible for the running of the club in addition to keeping up with new membership and renewals, planning playdates and staying in touch with our pregnant moms, creating our moms night outs and scheduling speakers! In addition to our monthly newsletter, website maintenance, publicity for the club in local publications, and of course the consignment sale!  We have our upcoming annual planning meeting this month! We are always eager to have members join the Board. If you want to become more involved with the club, I would love to chat with you. Send me a message on FB or email me at president@nowamom.org

Don’t forget that now is a great time to start hanging all of your kids spring and summer clothes for the Spring Consignment Sale! Registration begins next week! This is one of my favorite activities to participate in and I’ve become friends with so many people!

    Until next month,

    Sara Powell, NOWAMOM President

Hello NOWAMOM  members! I am excited to be transitioning from my previous board position, as newsletter editor to be your new NOWAMOM president! I want to send a HUGE thank you to Stacey Albracht for leading our club for the past two years. I am so thankful she will be remaining on the board as one of our Programs Coordinator!

I joined NOWAMOM in the spring of 2013 when we found out we were pregnant with twins after going through IVF. I was so happy to find a group of women who were navigating this  multiples life along with me.  The first meeting I went to was in October 2013 about 2 weeks  before we were to deliver. It was the Moms on Call   meeting! What a great first experience with this club. I still refer back to things I learned that night!

Your NOWAMOM Board has a lot of great new ideas and events in store for this year! We will soon be announcing the date and location for our annual Fall Festival!

In less than a month kids pre-school age and up will be starting back to school already! My kids still have 2 years in preschool before starting kindergarten, but I have always found this time of year exciting. If you are sending your multiples to school for the first time or are new to GA, please refer to the Georgia Twin Law that gives the parent the choice on whether to keep your multiples in the same classroom or to separate them.  Our Facebook page has had some great discussions on this topic.

August is Consignment Sale month! Registration is now open to be a seller and/or worker at the Fall/Winter Sale! Please login to the NOWAMOM website for registration directions.

I am excited about all the great ideas and events we have planned for this coming year!

Happy New Year! I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday and want to wish you the best in the new year. Our club had a wonderful December with a fabulous Holiday party organized by Jennifer Woods and the special events committee. Our parent connection board members, Caroline Grundner & Danielle McGee also had wonderful playdates including a Cookie Swap at Kristen's home. Thank you ladies for planning such fun activities for our families!

Are you making some New Year's Resolutions? Here are a few ideas on how NOWAMOM can help.

Resolve to make Meal Time easier.
In February we will be meeting at my home for a Tastefully Simple Freezer meal workshop. I am so excited about this as I really struggle with dinner. I find myself making multiple trips to the grocery store & by Thursday it is not uncommon to be dialing for carry out.

Resolve to have more "me" time.
Come join us at our monthly meetings, Book Club, or moms night out events in 2017. We have several great events already on the schedule including our club meeting on 1/11, Book Club on 1/26, & freezer meal workshop on 2/2.

    Resolve to declutter and organize.
A great first step is getting rid of items your family no longer needs, starting with clothing, equipment and toys that your kids have outgrown. The Spring/Summer Consignment Sale is only two months away, and is a great way to clear out stuff while making some cash. Check out the Seller Guide included in this newsletter; it has all the information you need to get started preparing your items. Registrations starts this month on 1/9.

    Resolve to get more connected.

Please make sure you are receiving the club emails and invitations. Our Facebook page is another great way to connect with other moms. If you are not on either of these, contact membership@nowamom.org for assistance.

Resolve to become more involved in our club.
Please see the list of board positions and email me directly if you have an interest and we can discuss it further. The new board does not begin until July so you still have some time to think about it. There are lots of opportunities to become more involved in our club, and I promise you will find the experience enriching in so many ways.

    Happy November!

The holiday season is upon us and I find myself thinking about all the things I am thankful for. First I am thankful for my husband & family. I feel so blessed to have them in my life. Like many of you I was faced with years of infertility and then I was given the blessing of being a mom of multiples. Little did I know that being a mom of multiples would not only give me 2 sweet boys but also a network of super moms. I feel very lucky to have made so many friends in this group. You ladies are truly super moms and get the daily struggles & rewards that come with being a parent of multiples. I am also thankful for the NOWAMOM Board. I feel lucky to get to work with such amazing women who give up time with their families to help plan, support other moms, and help our club grow. Have you been thinking about getting more involved? Then please consider joining the 2017-18 board or support us in a committee position. I promise you will make some amazing friends while helping our club continue to thrive. Please feel free to email me if you are interested.

We have many wonderful events coming up in the next couple of months. On November 11th we will be holding our first holiday market at my home.  Come get a head start on your holiday shopping and see some of the great businesses our members have.  Audrey & Kellye have been busy planning our annual Thanksgiving Feast on November 16th. If you were able to secure a donation for this event please email programs@nowamom.org prior to the event. On December 10th we will have our annual holiday party. My favorite part of this party is that you get time with Santa alone at the party (no more venturing to the crowded mall for this mama). The club hires a professional photographer who takes pictures of your family with or without Santa. I know I am not alone in loving this part of the party. We also have book club in November and December plus more fun play dates. As you can see the NOWAMOM board has been very busy planning activities for the club.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving & hope to see you at an upcoming event!
